Annie Laura Viar, 87, of Halls, died Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at Dyersburg Manor Nursing Home.
Born in Maury City, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late Robert Edward and the late Maggie Lee (Cox) Bailey.
She was a supervisor, employed by Tupperware and a former owner of Viar Processing. Mrs. Viar was a member of Halls First Baptist Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Marilyn Cleland of Louisville, Ky., and a granddaughter, Lee Ann Harrison, who she raised. She also leaves two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Viar; a daughter, Anna Ray Hurt; a son, Jim Viar; three brothers, Robert Thomas Bailey, O'Brien Bailey and Donald Bascomb Bailey; and five sisters, Callie Gilliland, Sallie Mae Barnes, Elizabeth Chronister, Faye Hart and Rowena Dunaway.
Visitation will be held today from 5-8 p.m. at Halls Funeral Home, 109 N. Church St., Halls, Tenn.
Services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Halls First Baptist Church. Burial will be in Halls Cemetery.
