Billy Carr Ayers, 64, of Newbern, died Saturday, July 16, 2011 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.
He was employed by Federal Land Bank for 10 years, then became a self-employed farmer and excavator. He spent four years in the United States Air Force serving in Vietnam. He was a member of Center United Methodist Church.
Services were at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home with the Rev. Dan Tilley officiating. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery in Newbern.
Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Sherron Robbins Ayers of Newbern; a stepson, Alan Webb and wife, Stephanie, of Brentwood; and three grandchildren, Zach Webb, Clare Webb and Grace Webb, all of Brentwood.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Otera Ayers.
Pallbearers were Johnny Johnson, Ted Johnson, Barry Ladd, Butch Ladd, Danny Willis, Danny Ladd, Timothy Hassell and Tim Hassell. Honorary pallbearers were Jim Bane, Bill Hall, Ronnie Weatherly, Rodney Lucas, Tommy Hendrix, Wilber Walton, Kenneth Ladd and Bubba Hendren.

Captain Joe Mack Milan, 56, died Wednesday, July 13, 2011 in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.
He graduated from Dyersburg High School 1974 joined the Navy same year. Retired from Navy after 21 years. He went to Pearl Harbor where he became Harbor Pilot.
He was preceded in death by his Father Monroe Neal Milan and brother Norman Neal Milan and stepfather Elston Dixon
He is survived by his wife, Mi Suk Milan; a son, Joe Mack Milan Jr.; his mother, Maggie Milan Dixon; a sister Letha Milan Morrow and husband, Roberto; two stepsisters Ruth Dale Chandler and husband, Jere Chandler, and Jean McGarrity and husband, Douglas McGarrity; two nephews Jerry Bell and Kenny Milan; a great-nephew, Evan Bell; two great-nieces, Sabrina and Anna Milan; and two aunts, Inez Jones and Nell Milan.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 23 at Finley United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ralph Gunter officiating.
Virgie Mae Boyd, 81, of Ridgely, died Monday, July 18, 2011 at The Bride at Ridgely.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Calvary Baptist Church.
The family will receive visitors at 5:30 p.m. today at the church. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Leroy Stoner, 88, of Dyersburg, died Sunday, July 17, 2011 at Dyersburg Manor Nursing Center.
