Leroy (Polly) Stoner, 88, of Dyersburg, died Sunday, July 17, 2011 at Dyersburg Manor Nursing Center.
He was a truck driver for the Mayflower Trucking Co. He later retired from Dyersburg Co-op Co. On July 3, 1976 he was united in holy matrimony to the late Ivory Stoner who preceded him in death on Aug. 14, 2006.
Funeral services will be Saturday, July 23, 2011 at noon at Salters Chapel AME Church in Dyersburg. The Rev. Cecil Maddox will officiate. Burial will be at Hopewell Cemetery in Dyersburg. The family will receive friends Saturday, July 23 from 10 a.m.-noon at the church.
He leaves one daughter, Angela (Dwayne) Johnson of Milwaukee, Wis.; one son, Edward (Christina) Starks of Paducah, Ky.; two stepsons, James "Bonzo" (Jackie) Anderson of Dyersburg; Thero (Christine) Anderson of Detroit, Mich.; one stepson-in-law, Walter Yander of Dyersburg; three sisters-in-law, Arlean Stoner of Dyersburg, Margaret D. Reed of Nashville, and Willie Mae Sanders of Chicago, Ill.; one brother-in-law, George Lee (Mary) Shaw of Covington; two aunts, Laura Mims and Louis Hill, both of Dyersburg; 17 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren.
H.H. Hudson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Hazel Bennett, 82, of Dyersburg, died Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
