Calvin Lewis Brown, 77, of Ripley, died Thursday, July 21, 2011 at Lauderdale Community Hospital in Ripley.

He was a farmer.

Graveside services were held at 11:30 a.m. Monday in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Ripley. Halls Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include a son, Calvin L. Brown Jr.; a sister, Martha Hollis of Ripley; three grandchildren, Tina Boone, Angela Mettlen and Jeremiah Mettlen.


Ruth Gay, 93, of Dyersburg, died Sunday, July 24, 2011 at Maple Ridge Assisted Living Center.

She was a retired telephone operator with South Central Bell, where she worked for 28 years, member of Parr Avenue Church of Christ and a member of Telephone Pioneers.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Fairview Cemetery with the Rev. Charles Halliburton officiating. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

The family will receive visitors from 5:30-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Survivors include her Goddaughter, Patty Moore and husband, Jerry, of Dyersburg; a nephew, James Rivers Sudbury of Poplar Bluff, MO.; and two grandchildren, Brad McClendon and Heidi McClendon Tidman, both of Texas; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Milton Gay; a son, Michael Lee McClendon; her parents, Benjamin and Lilly Woodall Sudbury; two sisters, Maggie Lou Sudbury and Demetra Sudbury; and six brothers, Otho Sudbury, Paul Sudbury, Franklin Sudbury, Harry Sudbury, Darrel Sudbury and Oliver Sudbury.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Moore, Jody Moore, Jimmy Moody, Buck Nash, Kenny Webster and Jeremy Moore.


Christie McKay Haynes, 37, of Dyersburg, died Saturday, July 23, 2011 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.

She was an employee with Master Cleaners.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. John Lowrance officiating. Burial will be in Sorrells Chapel Cemetery.

Survivors include her son, Cameron Brice Haynes of Dyersburg; and her father and stepmother, George and Vicki Haynes of Dyersburg.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kiley McKay Haynes; and her mother, Patsy McClain Haynes.

Pallbearers will be Dakota Owsley, Tim Owsley, Ricky Doss, Jr., Scotty McGuire, Austin Cook and Brent Bumpus.


Kiley McKay Haynes, 8, of Dyersburg, died Saturday, July 23, 2011 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.

She was a student at Lara Kendall Elementary School.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. John Lowrance officiating. Burial will be in Sorrells Chapel Cemetery.

Survivors include her father, John Russell of Bogota; two brothers, Cameron Brice Haynes of Dyersburg and J.P. Russell of Martin; her grandparents, George and Vicki Haynes of Dyersburg, Brenda Russell of Bogota and John and Donna Russell of Memphis; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, whom all loved her very much.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Christie McKay Haynes; and her grandmother, Patsy Haynes.

Pallbearers will be Dakota Owsley, Tim Owsley, Ricky Doss, Jr., Scotty McGuire, Austin Cook and Brent Bumpus.


Mildred G. Caldwell, 98, of Trimble, died Sunday at Beverly Healthcare in Southaven, Miss.

Funeral arrangements for Mrs. Caldwell will be announced by Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.


Mike Reeves, 52, of Dyersburg, died Monday, July 25, 2011 at his residence.

Services are incomplete and will be announced by Curry Funeral Home.
