James Steven Adair, 61, of Alamo, died Monday, July 25, 2011.

He was an Eligibility Counselor with the State of Tennessee. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Christian Brothers University in Memphis and a Master of Business Administration from Union University in Jackson.

Graveside services will be at 1030 a.m. in Oakview Memorial Park in Alamo. Ronk Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Claire Adair; three daughters, Whitney Elizabeth Adair, Courtney Alison Adair and Ashley Ann Adair; his mother, Dorothy Mae Adair; a sister, Sheila Ogburn; and a niece, Nicole Ogburn.

He was preceded in death by his father, Marvin Ernest Adair.

The family request that any memorials be directed to the American Heart Association or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital in Memphis.


Mr. M.D. Kirkpatrick Jr. age 87, of Tiptonville, Tennessee passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2011, at Reelfoot Manor Nursing Home. Mr. Kirkpatrick was a retired self-employed businessman. He was the owner of Reelfoot Grocery, Crosstown Salvage, and Kirkpatrick's Used Cars. He was a member and an elder at Tiptonville Church of Christ. He was a member of Tiptonville Civitan Club and Lake County Historical Society.

He was married to his wife of 67 years Mrs. Ochanon Berry Kirkpatrick, of Tiptonville. He is survived by his daughter Brenda Kirkpatrick Minchew, and husband Calvin, of Macon, Ga.; one grandchild, Sharon Jones Broussard, and husband Ronnie, Centerville, Ga.; one great-grandchild Joseph Broussard, and three step-grandchildren, Sherman Minchew, Wesley Minchew, Phillip Minchew.

Funeral services for Mr. Kirkpatrick will be 11 AM Saturday, July 30, 2011 at the Tiptonville Church of Christ conducted by Mr. Don Reel. Visitation will be from 6-8 pm Friday evening at the church. Interment will be at Tiptonville City Cemetery. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Virgil "Duke" Baltezor, Kendall Salmon, Fred Pollock, Richard Runions, Bill Crammer, William Denman Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be J. C. Williams, Gene Lee, Dan Liles, Toy Dooley.

He was preceded in death by his parents M.D. Kirkpatrick Sr. and Lillie Vaughn Kirkpatrick.


Sam Clifford Moore, 73, of Newbern, died Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Moore was retired SFC from the U.S. Army after 20-plus years of service where he served in the Korean and Vietnam wars. He enlisted in 1954 and was discharged in 1975. After his retirement from the U.S. Army Mr. Moore was employed with customer service for the Houston newspaper The Chronicle. He was a member of Junction Church of God and a Mason.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenny Chessor officiating. Burial will be in Pierce Cemetery in Trimble.

The family will receive visitors from 5:30-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Francis Abernathy Moore of Newbern; four sons, Carl Thomas Moore and wife, Deborah, of Teague, Texas, Johnny Clifford Moore of Galveston, Texas, William Allen Moore and wife, Maria, of Dyersburg, and Tony Lee Moore and wife, Tina, of League City, Texas; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Sam Clifton Moore; his mother, Tony Angeline Lewis Smith; and a sister, Sadie Eugene Vitalone.

Pallbearers will be Jeffrey Moore, Joshua Moore, Christopher Moore, Corban Moore, Joey McCoy, Darren Hileman, Randy Warden and Justin Burch.

Mr. Bobby Joe Robinson age 78, of Bogota, Tennessee passed away Thursday, July 28, 2011 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, Tn. He is retired from the mold department of Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company. He was a veteran of the US Army. He was a member of Miston Baptist Church.

Funeral Services will be 1:30 pm Saturday, July 30, 2011 in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home conducted by Rev. Carmon Dennison. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 pm Friday at the funeral home. Dyersburg Funeral Home has charge of arrangements

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Bobbie A. Robinson of Bogota, his daughter Anita Fowlkes and husband Bill, Dyersburg, Tn. and his son Ronnie Robinson and wife Vickie of Troy, Tn. Six grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents John Robinson and Ethel Criswell Robinson, his sisters Velma Moore Coleman and Gwen Finley and his brother Ralph Robinson.
