Dorothy M. Harness, 89, of Hot Springs Village, Ark., passed away Friday, July 15, 2011, after a long illness. Dorothy "Dot" was born in Dyer County to George Chesley and Nina Mae (Bickers) Meadows on March 26, 1922.

She was preceded in death by her parents and only brother, G. C. Meadows, Jr. Her husband of 65 years, Jack Harness, died on July 29, 2011. Dot leaves three nieces; Patricia "Pat" Higdon and husband Sonny of Halls; Nina Wolfe and husband Ronnie of Germantown; and Judy Mae Jones of Dyersburg.

Jack M. Harness, 88, died on July 29, 2011 of congestive heart failure at Hot Springs Village, Ark. fourteen days after the death of his wife Dorothy Meadows Harness. Jack was the son of Jack Harness and Martha Seagraves Harness. He graduated from Dyersburg High School in 1940 and attended the University of Tennessee.

A veteran of World War II, he served as an officer in the Water Division of the Army Transportation Corps. Active in civic affairs, he was a national director in the Tennessee Jaycees and was made an honorary lifetime member of that organization.

Jack was the manager of the Dyersburg Sherwin Williams Store and enjoyed a 32-year career as a district manager with the Sherwin Williams Company. He and Dot retired to Hot Springs Village, Ark. in 1980, where he chose a second career in real estate and retired again in 2001.

Jack was the Paternal Uncle of Patricia Meadows Higdon of Halls; Nina Meadows Wolfe of Germantown; and Judy Meadows Jones of Dyersburg.

Jack's Memorial service will be held at The Good Samaritan Lodge Chapel in Hot Springs Village, Ark. on August 19, 2011 at 11 a.m.

Randy Flynn Junior, 56, of Carriere, Miss., died Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2011 in Carriere.

He was the owner of J & J Siding.

Johnson-Williams Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include his wife, Teresa Ann Junior; a daughter, Telissa Denean Leach of Brownsville; two sons, Gideon Mack Junior of Dyer and Derek Flynn Junior of Dyersburg; two sisters, Shirley Jones and Kim Luckett of Lenox; a brother, Scotty Junior of Dyersburg; and grandchildren Zachary Ty Junior, Madison Alise Junior, Bradley Aaron Junior, Randy Flynn Junior, Drandon Gourley, Destin Gourley, Jeff Phelps, Andrea Phelps, J.W. Daniel and Kristen Daniel.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gideon and Louise Mancell Junior; a sister, Fannie Gable; and two brothers, Mike Junior and Gilbert Junior.

Myrtle Josie Ricketts, 87, of Newbern, formerly of Greenfield, died Friday, Aug. 12, 2011 at Dyersburg Manor.

She was a homemaker and a member of Glendale Church of Christ.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 15, 2011 at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home with Bro. Wesley Walker and Bro. Toney Smith officiating. Burial will be in Meacham Cemetery near Newbern.

The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Survivors include five daughters, Mary Lyons (James) of Saltillo, Miss., Judy Carter (Clayton) of Newbern, Sue Patterson (J. P.) of Dyersburg, Karen Turner and Gina Clark (Steve), both of Greenfield; six sons, David Ricketts, Donald Ricketts (Karen), Jimmy Ricketts and Mike Ricketts (Stacy), all of Greenfield, Paul Ricketts (Sharon) of Dresden and Larry Ricketts (Ruby) of Dyersburg; a sister, Dorothy Barrett of Newbern; a brother, George Moody of Newbern; 40 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel H. Ricketts; three sons, Tony Gene Ricketts, Johnny Ricketts and Rusty Ricketts; her parents, Webb Adam and Ollie Josie Pope Moody; two sisters, Margie Tipps and Birdie Carlisle; and three brothers, Adam Moody, Eugene Moody and Milton Moody.

Pallbearers will be Danny Ricketts, Tim Carter, Wade Willis, Larry Ricketts II, David P. Ricketts, Cody Ricketts, Daniel Ricketts and Wade Mathis. Honorary pallbearers will be Evan Romo and Rusty Ricketts.

Donald Larry White, 80, of Dyersburg, died Thursday, August 11, 2011 at Jackson Regional Hospital.

He was a retired insurance salesman for Life of Alabama Insurance Company, member of First Baptist Church, a Mason, an antique car collector, avid duck hunter and an U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Chad Keathley officiating. Burial will be in Yorkville Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors from 5:30-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Survivors include his two daughters, Cathy Gail White of Waller, TX. and Kimberly Dawn Baggett of Pearland, TX.; three sisters, Mamie Sue Cane of Louisville, KY., Peggy Dunn of Lockport, IL. and Sheila Carlton of Dyer; three brothers, Dennis White of Lockport, IL., Douglas White of Boca Raton, FL. and Jimmy White of Memphis; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Goldie Bishop White; and a brother, Johnny White.

Pallbearers will be Jonathan Campbell, Larry Campbell, David Glidewell, Bill Moore, Jack LeCroy and John David White. Honorary pallbearer will be Clifford Hopgood.
