Yvonne Cooper, 76, of Dyersburg, died Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2011 at Dyersburg Manor Nursing Home.

She was a retired employee of the accounting department of Colonial Rubber Works, a member of First Baptist Church, a member of Caring Friends of Dyersburg, Professional Secretaries Association and Senior Circle.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Hickman officiating. Burial will be in Dyer County Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive visitors at 5-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Survivors include a daughter, Susan Buskirk of Dyersburg; a son, Thomas Cooper of Atlanta, Ga.; and a granddaughter, Nikki Buskirk Miller of Murfreesboro.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, William Harvey Cooper; her parents, Tom and Odelle Eastwood; and a brother, Harold Eastwood.

Pallbearers will be Kenneth St. Romain, Jim Miller, Mike Henson, Gary Eastwood and Lynn Cooper. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Cooper and Bill Cooper.


Harry W. Climer, 85, of Proctor, Ark., died Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2011 at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis.

He was a hotel manager for Holiday Inns and was owner/operator of Climer's Kennels, a Baptist and a US Army veteran of World War II who witnessed the signing of the peace treaty in Japan.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home. Burial will be in Crittenden Memorial Park in Marion Ark.

The family will receive visitors at 12 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Survivors include a daughter, Sherree Johnson of Olive Branch, Miss.; two sons, Harry Lynn Climer of Southaven, Miss. and Terry Wayne Climer of Proctor, Ark.; five sisters, Doris Rainey of RoEllen, Evelyn Kelly of Nauvoo, Christine LaRue and Liz Taylor, both of Chicago, Ill. and Dorothy Tibbs of Halls; two brothers, Bill Climer of Dyersburg and Raymond Climer of Greenville, S.C.; five grandchildren, Brooke Shannon, Tim Climer, Mallory Johnson, Carrie Hoffman and Charles Bryan Climer; five great-grandchildren, Ryan Climer, Alyssa Climer, Blake Climer, Emma Grace Climer, Cooper Shannon and Emerson Shannon.

Sandra A. Bradshaw VanDeveer, 68, of Naples, Fla., with family roots in Obion County, Tenn., died Monday, Oct. 24, 2011, in Lockport, Illinois.

She was a retired property manager.

Services will be at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Blakeburn and Rev. Marlon Stephens officiating. Burial will be in Zion Cemetery in Elbridge.

The family will receive visitors from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011, at the funeral home.

Survivors include a daughter, Natalie Lindau and husband William, of Lockport, Ill.; three sisters, Donna Voss and husband, Larry, Dinna Wilson and husband, Jim, and Deborah Dean and husband, Dennis, all of Obion; two grandchildren, Amanda Lindau and Nicholas Lindau, both of Lockport, Ill.; a nephew, Jason Lewis of Obion; and two nieces, Laura Waggoner and husband, William, of Union City, and Heather Wilson of Memphis.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene VanDeveer; and her parents, Denver and Mary Jeanette Inman Bradshaw.

Mary L. Hopson, 84, of Dyersburg, died Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2011 at his residence.
