Dyersburg Police have arrested the suspect they believe broke out a glass door at an East Court Street business and stole several items.
Roy Johnson, 36, 510 Roberts Ave., was taken into custody and charged with burglary after he appeared at the Dyer County Jail on Tuesday evening.
Johnson is alleged to have broken out the plate-glass window of the Dollar General Store at 801 East Court St. sometime Monday evening. A large piece of concrete was used to knock out the window.
DPD Capt. Roger Dudley said Johnson was identified as a suspect and officers went to his residence several times looking for him before he arrived at the jail. After police were notified that Johnson was at the jail, officers arrived and took him into custody.
Johnson is thought to have acted alone and possibly took several clothing items during the commission of the crime.
