Funeral services for Lois Laverne Elkins, 86, will be held on Monday Dec. 19, 2011 at 2:00 P. M. at the Friendship Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy McElyea officiating. Burial will follow in the Bellevernon Cemetery. Mrs. Elkins, widow of James E. Elkins, died Friday evening at the Alamo Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after a long illness.
She was born in Dyer County, daughter of the late Frank and Willie Bass Spencer and had lived her entire life in Dyer and Crockett County.
She was a retired factory worker at Halltex and was a member of the Elizabeth United Methodist Church. Survivors include her son Harold Elkins (Ann), Friendship, Tn, daughter, Rita Riley (Marvin) Halls, Tn, one grandson, Brad Elkins (Holly), Dyersburg, Tn. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Spencer and sister, Mable Ragan.
Pallbearers will be Scott Smith, Glen Carman, Scotty Carman, Jim Rice, Brad Elkins, and John Poole. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Sunday December 18th from 5-8 P.M.
Joy Ann McDearmon, age 73, of Dyersburg, TN, died Thursday, December 15, 2011, at her residence in Dyersburg, TN. She was a member of the Holy Angels Catholic Church in Dyersburg, TN where she was an active member of the Ladies Alter Society, served as a Sacristan, and was a Minister of Holy Communion. Mrs. McDearmon was a retired Administrative Assistant for Independent Radiology Associates.
Funeral services for Mrs. McDearmon will be 10:00 AM Monday at the Holy Angels Catholic Church in Dyersburg with Father Robert J. Stellini officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Newbern, TN. Visitation will be Sunday from 3:30 PM-5:30 PM at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.
Mrs. McDearmon is survived by her husband William Royce McDearmon; three daughters, Susan Seat and husband Jerry of Newbern, TN, Kathy Morgan and husband Randy of Newbern, TN, and Ellen Akin and husband Tim of Newbern, TN.; two sons, Steve McDearmon of Newbern, TN and Greg McDearmon of Dyersburg, TN; family friend Scott Ward of Dyersburg, TN; nine grandchildren, Brian Morgan and wife Samantha of Alexandria, VA, Brad Morgan and wife Kelly of Milton, FL, Ben Morgan and wife Laura of Newbern, TN, Celia Hensley and John Hensley of Dyersburg, TN, Paul Seat and Kelly Flanagan of Chesapeake, VA, Suzanne Seat of McKenzie, TN, Adam Seat of McKenzie, TN, Megan Akin McDaniel and husband Mark of Bartlett, TN and Mallory Akin Blurton and David of Union City, TN; four great-grandchildren, John Andrew Hensley of Dyersburg, TN, Collin Morgan and Kyle Morgan of Milton, FL, Allison Morgan of Newbern, TN and to-be Baby McDaniel of Bartlett, TN.
She was the daughter of the late Galen and Cleo Gilham.
Pallbearers will be Brian Morgan, Brad Morgan, Ben Morgan, Paul Seat, Adam Seat and John Andrew Hensley.
Honorary pallbearers will be Collin Morgan and Kyle Morgan.

Billy Hugh Ring, 73, of Trimble, Tennessee died on Friday, December 16, 2011, at The Highlands Of Dyersburg in Dyersburg, Tennessee.
Born Monday, April 11, 1938 in Tippah County, Mississippi, he was the son of the late John Lee Ring and the late Vera Mae Tate Ring.
He was a retired employee of Trimble Manufacturing.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM at Poplar Grove Cemetery with the Rev. Rudy Ring officiating. Interment will be in Poplar Grove Cemetery, Newbern, TN. Visitation for Mr. Ring will be Sunday from 1:00 PM-1:45 PM at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.
Mr. Ring is survived by a brother, Jimmy D. Ring of Trimble, TN, and a sister, Lois Sue Waters of Gary, IN. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Peggy Ring, Dorothy Curtis and Christine Johnson; four brothers, Alvie Ring, Talbert Ring, Raymond Ring and Daymond Ring; two half brothers, Sterling Ring and Elbert Ring. Mr. Ring was also preceded in death by five other brothers.
Pallbearers will be Richard Ring, Tim Ring, Jerry Jernigan, Joey Henderson, Dewayne Wilson and Scott Curtis.

William Stewart, 57, of Ridgely, died Saturday, Dec. 17, 2011 at his residence.
Memorial services will be held Monday at 7 p.m. at Willingham Memorial Baptist Church. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
