Mrs. Legretta Stover Blurton, age 88 of the Minnick Community died Sunday, December 18 at the Tennessee State Veterans Home in Humboldt, TN. Mrs. Blurton was the daughter of the late Avery and Amanda Barton Stover. She was a lifetime member of the Minnick Bible Church, a cook for Reelfoot Rural Ministry and a wonderful Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Sister.
Mrs. Blurton is survived by three daughters, Dianne and Roger Turnbo of Ridgely, Betty and Jim McClain of Obion and Doris and Floyd Peal of Obion, and two brothers, Willard Stover of Obion and Carmon Stover of Newbern, 8 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Arthur Blurton, Jr., a son Harvey Blurton, a grandson Steve Turnbo, a twin sister Ouida Yates, and two sisters Mattie Stover and Loretta Stover. Six brothers also preceded, Oren Stover, Bernie Stover, Richard Stover, Earl Stover, Ealon Stover and Barton Stover. Rev. James Robert Gunter will officiate, assisted by Rev. Ralph Moore. Pallbearers will be Kevin Younger, Chris Rainey, Dustin Rainey, Seth Turnbo, Shane Stover and David Blurton.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 21 at Minnick Bible Church. The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. today at the church. Burial will be in Minnick Cemetery. Cryer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Annie Perdue, 80, of Dyersburg, died Monday, Dec. 19, 2011 at her residence.
