G.D. "Geed" Armstrong, 94, of Dyersburg, died Friday, December 30, 2011 at the Highlands of Dyersburg.
He was a retired employee of Colonial Rubber, where he worked for 27 years and a member of McCullough's Chapel Baptist Church.
Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Don Williams officiating. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery.
The family received visitors from 5-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Survivors include his two daughters, Peggy Armstrong Ashley and Brenda Armstrong Hollingsworth, both of Dyersburg; three sons, G.P. Armstrong of Tiptonville, Bill Armstrong and Rodney Armstrong, both of Dyersburg; eleven grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Fern Elizabeth Anderson Armstrong; his parents, Payton and Linnie Daniels Armstrong; four sisters, Lillie Anderson, Rosie Lee Brimm, Dolly Armstrong and Myrtle McCann; four brothers, Robert Goodloe Arm-strong, Chester Arm-strong, Sam Armstrong and Partee Armstrong; and a great-granddaughter, Amber Poe.
Pallbearers were Albert Ward, Eric Larson, Keith Ward, Don Grizzle, Jim Poe, Chad Hollingsworth and Scott Hollingsworth. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Jones and Joey Kimbrell.
The family requests that memorials be directed to the charity of the donor's choice.
Arthur Gene Carter, 75, of Dyersburg died Friday, Dec. 30, 2011 at Jackson Madison-County General Hospital.

Lee) Strayhorn and Keisha (Elder Robert Taylor Jr.), of Dyersburg; five sons, Terry (Winnie) Carter of Maryland, Artie (Mary) Carter, Joe Carter and Ty Carter, all of Dyersburg and Ray (Sha) Carter of Florida; 22 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.

Lowell Thomas Gentry Sr., 75, of Dyersburg, died Friday, December 30, 2011 at Christian Care Center of Rutherford County in Smyrna.
He was a retired co-owner of Genson, Inc., member of United Methodist Church, member of American General Contractors Assoc. and former member of Tennessee Army National Guard.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Clyde Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

Survivors include his two daughters, Kippie Gentry Scarborough and husband, Brian, and Stacey Gentry, all of Murfreesboro; a son, Tommy Gentry and wife, Kathy, of Dyersburg; two brothers, Grady Gentry Jr. of Dyersburg and Ted Gentry of Newbern; seven grandchildren, Levi Gentry, Jeremy Gentry, Kyle Gentry, Eric Gentry, Ty Scarborough, Peyton Sorrell and Eli Scarborough; and two great-grandsons, Quade Gentry and Jake Gentry.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette Moore Gentry, whom he was married to for 38 years; his parents, Grady and Ora Epperson Gentry; and a brother, Dickie Gentry.
Pallbearers will be Brian Scarborough, Levi Gentry, Jeremy Gentry, Ty Scarborough, Peyton Sorrell, Jon Gentry and Eli Scarborough.

Mary L. Huffman, 77, of the Huffman Community, passed from this life on Thursday, December 29, 2011, at her home.
Born in Caledonia, MS, to P.E. and Ollie Mae Edwards Bowen, she was a member of Mary's Chapel Baptist Church and retired from ACCO. Mary loved to quilt and sew and work in her garden. She enjoyed cooking and canning, but most of all, she enjoyed the special times she spent with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Murvin Huffman; and brothers, Billy Bowen and Kenneth Bowen. _
She is survived by her children, Rodney Huffman and wife, Gloria of Dyersburg, TN, Connie Smith and husband, Jim of Blytheville; stepdaughter, Brenda Combs and husband Roger, of Hindman, KY; brother, James Bowen of Michigan City, IN; sisters, Myrtie Howington of Paragould, Charlotte Allison of Tyronza, AR and Leta Bowen of Truman, AR; grandchildren, Blaine Huffman, Ryan Huffman, Alana Lovins, Jay Smith and Jeffrey Smith; great-grandchild, Ava Cate Smith; step-grandchild, Selina Hall and step-great-grandchild, Braxton Hall.
Funeral services will be Sunday, January 1, 2012 at 2 p.m. in Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lawrence Gibbons officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. Joanne Joyner, 75, of Henderson, died Thursday, Dec. 29, 2011 in Henderson.
She was the loving mother of four, Dr. Johnny Joyner and wife, Brenda of Dyersburg, TN; Mrs. Jan Joyner Priddy and husband, Steve of Beech Bluff, TN; Mr. Joe Lynn Joyner and wife, Patty of Henderson, TN; and Mr. James Joyner and wife, Marcia of Jackson, TN.
She was the doting grandmother of seven grandchildren, Rebecca Joyner and Ryan Joyner, both of Dyersburg, TN; Jennifer Priddy Johnson and husband, Jason of Lexington, TN; Nicholas Priddy of Huntingdon, TN; Bradley Joyner, April Joyner Willis and husband, Kevin, all of Henderson, TN and Elizabeth Joyner of Jackson, TN.
She was the endearing great-grandmother to five great-grandchildren, Trenton Joyner, Lane Joyner, Carley Joyner, and Lilly Joyner, all of Henderson, TN; and Lauren Johnson of Lexington, TN.
She loved to quilt, sew, crochet, watch Cardinal baseball, and take trips with her church group. She was an avid bird watcher and puzzle master. She loved to play cards and bingo with her friends and the staff at Southern Oaks Assisted Living Center. She was also a very giving and loving lady who crocheted hats for children at St. Jude Children's Hospital. She will be missed by all she touched throughout her life.

Charles C. Peery, 77 of Dyersburg, died on Sunday, January 1, 2012, at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center in Dyersburg.
Born Monday, July 9, 1934 in Dyersburg, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Summers Edwin Peery and the late Opal Pate Peery.
He was a retired employee of Dyersburg City Schools and a U.S. Army veteran.
Surviving are his wife, Carolyn Dale Cook Peery of Dyersburg, TN; two sons, Charles C. Peery Jr. of Milan, TN and Lynn Mitchell of Dyersburg, TN; one daughter, Patricia Ables of Dyersburg, TN; 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Henrietta Peery and a sister, Betty Kate Morgan.
Funeral services will be at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, January 4, 2011 at Evansville Free Holiness Church with the Rev. Mac Daniels officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery-Dyersburg.
