Steve Wayne Burpo, of Ripley, TN, died Friday, January 20, 2012, at Decedent's Residence in Ripley, Tennessee. He was employed by Colonial Rubber/Excel Polymers for 23 years, member of Christian Motorcycle Association, member of Bethesda United Methodist Church in Halls, Tennessee, former softball coach at the Dyersburg Community Center and former soccer coach at the Dyersburg/Dyer County YMCA.
Funeral services for Mr. Burpo will be 2:00 PM Monday in the Chapel of the Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. Officiating this service will be Rev. Jim Wallace. Internment will follow in Pierce Cemetery in Trimble, Tennessee. Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00 PM-7:00 PM at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Gail Childress Burpo of Ripley, Tennessee; one daughter Lindsey Erin Burpo of Dyersburg, Tennessee; mother, Betty Baker of Dyersburg, Tennessee; father and stepmother, Billy Wayne and Cathy Burpo of Obion, Tennessee; one sister, Angie Upchurch of Danville, Virginia; grandmother Artie Mae Burpo of Hornbeak, Tennessee and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, John L. Burpo; grandparents Hubert Leon and Norah Mae Baker.
Pallbearers will be Don Morgan, Mark Weichlein, Kenneth Campbell, Ray Whitehead, John Franklin and Danny Maddox. Honorary pallbearers will be Lisa Ray, Earl Riley and Joel Upchurch.

Phyllis Anne Jackson, 65, of Dyersburg, died Friday, January 20, 2012 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.
She was a homemaker, member of Cornerstone Church of God and a former auditor for First Citizens National Bank.
Services will be at 3 p.m. today in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Calvin Smith officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
The family received visitors from 5-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Survivors include her husband, James Jackson Sr. of Dyersburg; two sons, James "Marty" Jackson of Newbern and Joseph "Eric" Jackson of Dyersburg; two sisters, Fay Jamison and Margaret Hill, both of Finley; a brother, Joe Smith of Finley; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Lena Cicero Smith.
Pallbearers will be Taylor Tibbs, Brian Jackson, Chad Brewer, Joseph Jackson, Dakota Jackson and Ryne Jackson.
Carolyn Faye Russell Hollis Jones, born Aug. 9, 1938, was 73 years old, formerly of Dyersburg, died Sunday, Dec. 11, 2011 in Lakeland, Fla.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2012 at Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg.
Survivors include two nephews, Darrell (Dolly) Brigance of Lodi, Calif., and Ron (Kolleen) Brigance of Renton, Wash.; three nieces, Laneda Hendrix, Donna Gray and Ruth Cupples, all of Dyersburg; four great-nephews, six great-nieces, and 17 great-great-nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and William Bethel Jackson Weeks Russell and infant son; a brother, James Alvin Russell; a son, James Michael Hollis; a sister and brother-in-law, Nellie Velma Weeks Brigance and Leonard Doyle Brigance; and her husband, Raymond Jones of Chicago, Ill.

JOHNSON CITY - Nolen S. Pendergrast, Steve to his friends and family, passed away peacefully at the VA Community Living Center at Mountain Home, Tennessee on Thursday afternoon (January 19, 2012) after developing pancreatic cancer.
Born in Brownsville, Tennessee, Steve was the son of Patricia S. Brown and the late Nolen L. Pendergrast. He graduated from Newbern High School in 1965 and served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam and Europe from 1967-1971. He lived numerous places around the United States - Hartford, Connecticut; Ida, Oklahoma; Huntsville, Alabama; Marianna, Florida and Kingsport, Tennessee. He graduated from the University of Hartford with a degree in Biology. Steve loved nature and applied this interest during his employment with the Boll Weevil program of the USDA. He was a great fan of SEC football, especially the University of Tennessee. Steve possessed a rough exterior that protected a thoughtful and caring individual.
Steve was preceded in death by his father, Nolen L. Pendergrast .
He leaves behind his mother, Patricia S. Brown of Kingsport; wife, Carol Pendergrast of Marianna, Florida; daughter, Patricia K. Pendergrast of San Francisco, California; brother, Craig Pendergrast (Kathy) of Nashville, Tennessee; sister, Celine P. Cross (Kyle) of Kingsport and several caring cousins, nephews and nieces.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, January 22, 2012 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, 520 Watauga Street, Kingsport with Rev. Jack Edwards officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the funeral service.
Graveside services will held at 2 pm on Monday, January 23, 2012 at Zion Methodist Cemetery, Brownsville, TN.

Crytpside services for Robert H. Thompson, Sr., 91 will be held Sunday, Jan. 22, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at Friendship Cemetery with Rev. Clyde Thompson officiating.
Mr. Thompson was a retired Vice President of Campbell Soup Company and died Monday, Jan. 16, 2012 at his home in Lakeland, Florida after a long illness. He was born in Crockett County, TN son of the late Lemuel Herbert and Mary Elizabeth Thompson and was veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He attended the International Assembly of God in Lakeland, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his wife Miriam Ebling in 2007.
He is survived by one son, Robert Thompson Jr. (Vicki), Lakeland, FL; one daughter, Estella Thompson, Hamden, Conn.; three sisters, Gladys Martin, Friendship, Kate Houston, Olive Branch, MS, Dot Cox, Dyersburg, TN; two brothers, Walter Miller Thompson, Friendship, Percy Thompson, Friendship; 4 Grandchildren and 2 Great-Grandchildren. Visitation was Saturday from 5-8 P. M. at Friendship Funeral Home.
Louise G. Espey, 90, of Friendship, died Thursday, Jan. 19, 2012.
Services were held Saturday at Halls Funeral Home.
