Melba Lois Rice Ellis, 66, of Dyersburg, died on Wednesday, March 28, 2012, at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.
Born Wednesday, February 20, 1946 in Dyersburg, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Eugene Rice and the late Stella Westmoreland Rice.
She was a member of The Sanctuary.
Funeral services for Mrs. Ellis will be 1:30 PM, Saturday, March 31, 2012 in the Chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. Officiating this service will be Bro. Ron Lovins. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg. Visitation will be Friday, March 30, 2012 from 5:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.
Mrs. Ellis is survived by her husband Burgie L. Ellis of Dyersburg; two daughters, Loretta Bohannon (Jessie) of Newbern, and Elesha Goodwin (Alan) of Newbern, Tennessee; one brother, David Rice (Ruth) of Dyersburg; two sisters, Faye Hodge of Dyersburg, and Aliene Darby of DeFuniak Springs, Florida; five grandchildren, Kelli White (Corey), Hali Goodwin, Kyle Goodwin, Lauren Bohannon and Lindsey Bohannon; and two great-grandchildren, Jacob St. Clair and Hannah Brook Tate..
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Cammie Lynn Ellis.
Pallbearers will be Jessie Bohannon, Alan Goodwin, Corey White, Kyle Goodwin, William Tate and Matt Craddock. Honorary pallbearers will be daughters and granddaughters.

Gene Jernigan, after battling Alzheimer's disease, went home to the Lord on March 22, 2012. He was born March 2, 1932 to Albert Pierce and Helen Milam Jernigan.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marian; one daughter, Diane Jernigan Cothran (Jac) of Brentwood, TN; two sons, Dick Jernigan (Marty) of Nesbit, MS and Mark Jernigan of Oklahoma City, OK. He also leaves one granddaughter, Anna Elizabeth Cothran of Brentwood and one great-granddaughter, Megan Martin of Bethel Springs, TN; one sister, Polly Neal of Jackson, formerly of Dyersburg; a host of nieces and nephews.
He was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church and active in the Children's Ministry. Also a member of the Gideon International Ministry for 40 years. He was in the insurance field. He attended Murray State and had a love of music and art. He was a tennis player who loved the game and made friends in all walks of life through the sport.
Services were held on Tuesday, March 27, at 11:30 a.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home in Memphis.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials for Gene be sent to The Gideons International, P.O. Box 17618, Memphis, TN 38187 or to a charity of the donor's choice.
Florence Butler Lock, 88, of the Millsfield Community near Dyersburg died Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at her residence.
She was retired co-owner of Lock's Grocery and a member of Christ United Methodist Church. During her life Mrs. Lock served as a mother to many children in the Millsfield Community.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Christ United Methodist Church with Bro. Jerry Edmundson and Bro. Robert Craig officiating. Burial will be in Hurricane Hill Cemetery. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive visitors at 5-8 p.m. Friday at the church.
Survivors include a brother, David Butler of Dyersburg; four nieces, Sandi Greer, Kristie Pierce Ramsey, Audrey Butler and Hazel Butler; a great-niece, Karley Butler; three nephews, Coy Pierce, Kevin Butler and Jerry Lock; four great-nephews, Zack Walton, Joshua Butler, Kade Butler and Jacob Pope; and a host of special friends who cared for her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Lock; her parents, Lee Butler and Martha Wilson Clifton; three brothers, Eugene Butler, Paul Butler and Robert Butler; and a nephew, David C. Butler.
Pallbearers will be Perry "Pee Wee" McQuarters, Billy Hall, Danny Willis, Mike Hopkins, Justin McQuarters, Mike Glozier, Robert Kirby and Jackie Keeling. Honorary pallbearer will be Kenneth Sawyer.
The family requests that any memorials be directed to Christ United Methodist Church.
