Irene Lois Marie Beasley, 90, of Humboldt, Tenn., formerly of Newbern, died on Friday, April 13, 2012, at Tennessee Veterans Home in Humboldt.
Born Friday, March 24, 1922 in Joliet, Ill., she was the daughter of the late Russell Haines and the late Ruby Marie Zahm Haines.
Graveside services for Mrs. Beasley will be 11:00 AM, Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at Fairview Cemetery in Newbern. Officiating this service will be Rev. Kenny Chessor.
Mrs. Beasley is survived by her husband Lynn Bryant Beasley of Humboldt, Tenn.; four sons, Keith Beasley of Jackson, Tenn., Gary Beasley of Jackson, Tenn., Kevin Beasley of Dyersburg, and James Beasley of Pensacola, Fla.; two brothers, Ralph Hawes Haines and Ronald "Tubby" Haines; three sisters, Hazel Gaffkec, Shirley Ann Malesanto and Sylvia Herbert; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by brother, Richard Haines and a sister, Donna Mae Riedy.

John C. Bowers, age 78 of Dyersburg, TN passed away on Monday, April 16, 2012 at The Highlands of Dyersburg. He was born June 3, 1933 in Hickman, KY. He leaves his wife of 56 years, Ann Welch Bowers; one son, Mark Bowers (Alesia) of Dyersburg; two daughters, Jane Ann Lineberry (Kevin) and Judy Mascolo (Brian), both of Jackson, TN; eight grandchildren, John Stanley Bowers, Zac Bowers, Nic Bowers, Clay Lineberry, Carter Lineberry, Blake Mascolo, Matthew Mascolo and Kate Mascolo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John L. and Thelma Bowers.
He graduated from Dyersburg High School and University of Tennessee. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.
He worked with the Corps of Engineers. He had a lifelong career in the manufacturing industry as a Supervisor at Salant and Salant in Obion, TN, as Human Resource Manager at Sylvania and Dyersburg Fabrics, and Plant Manager at Republic Builders. In the last years of his life, he was delivery driver for Belew and Ray Drugs.
He was a member of First Baptist Church in Dyersburg and a member of The McDivitt Sunday School Class.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday at Dyersburg Funeral Home and from 1-2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church. Funeral Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church officiated by Bro. Raymond Boston, Rev. Mike Hickman and Rev. Marty Johnson.
Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be his seven grandsons and honorary pallbearers will be The McDivitt Sunday School Class.
He will be greatly missed by the many, many family and friends who loved him dearly, but who will always be thankful for his long, blessed life.

Claud Loren Campbell, 85, of Newbern, died on Saturday, April 14, 2012, at Oakwood Community Living Center in Dyersburg, Tennessee.
Born Tuesday, Nov. 16, 1926, he was the son of the late Jake Campbell and the late Nancy Vickery Campbell.
Mr. Campbell was a retired construction foreman for S.M. Lawrence Construction Company, former Dyer County Constable, former Dyer County Sheriff Department Deputy and United States Army veteran.
Funeral services for Mr. Campbell will be 12:00 noon, Tuesday, April 17, 2012 in the Chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. Officiating this service will be Rev. Danny Klutts. Internment will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Newbern, Tennessee.
Mr. Campbell is survived by his wife Juanita Campbell of Newbern; one son James "Jim" Campbell of Dumfries, Va. and one daughter, Claudine Benitez of Newbern; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Henry Campbell, Ezra Campbell and Dee Campbell and one sister, Pearl McClanahan.
Pallbearers will be Simon Gabel, Charles Gabel, Chris Colvin, Larry Dunaway, David Allen and Clifford Holland.

Percy Edgar Smith, 80, of Dyersburg, formerly of Tiptonville, died Thursday, April 12, 2012 at Baptist Memorial Restorative Care Hospital in Memphis.
He was born May 2, 1931 in Sharon, MS and graduated from Farmhaven High School in April 1950. In the Korean War, Percy served in the U.S. Army, 5th Regimental Combat Team, Long Range Recon Patrol attaining the rank of 1st Sergeant, then the Mississippi National Guard and afterwards attended Mississippi State University. He worked as a Mississippi State Tax Agent, Mississippi State Bank Examiner, and a U.S. Federal Bank Examiner.
Percy moved to Tiptonville in 1968 with First State Bank and Trust Co. where he was an innovative banker who computerized operations and later expanded to include banks in Martin, and Dyersburg. He was instrumental in bringing the prison to Lake County, and establishing the Reelfoot Lake Regional Utility and Planning District. For many years he was a board member of Dyersburg State Community College. In addition, he was also active with the Boy Scouts, Lions Club, Defense Orientation Conference Association, and on the boards of many other organizations. Percy considered it an honor and a privilege to serve the communities with which he was affiliated. Retiring in July 1995, he spent much of his time on hobbies of traveling, cooking, and gardening.
Visitation will be Thursday, April 19th, 2012 from 5 to 7 p.m. followed by the Memorial Service at 7 p.m. in the Student Center at Dyersburg State Community College with Dr. David Russell, Senior Minister of First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be at Farmhaven Cemetery in Farmhaven, MS at 10 a.m. on Saturday April 21, 2012. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

He leaves his beloved wife of 24 years, Mary Lynn Smith of Dyersburg, two sons, Craig Smith of Tiptonville, Todd Smith and wife Ren of Milford, CT, a stepdaughter, Madeline Eddlemon of Dyersburg, two brothers, Ike Fremont Smith of Alexandria, VA, and Edgar Dye Smith and wife Molly of Brentwood, TN.
He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Perry Smith and his mother, Mary Matilda Spivey Smith, and two brothers, Arthur Perry Smith Jr. and Lewis Spivey Smith.

Guyve Thomas, 85 of Newbern, died on Monday, April 16, 2012
Born Tuesday, Sept. 14, 1926 in Dyer County, he was the son of the late Charles Clarence Thomas and the late Mary Jane Nolen Thomas.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He started Thomas Construction in 1966 and owned and operated the company until his retirement in 1992. Upon his retirement he turned the business over to his son, Jeff, who continues the family business along with his grandson David. He served in the United States Army during World War II and was stationed in the Philippines and Japan. He was a member of the Newbern First Baptist Church.
Funeral services for Mr. Thomas will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday, April 18, 2012 in the Chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. Officiating this service will be Rev. Danny Klutts. Interment will follow in Dyer County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 17, 2012 from 5:00 PM-8:00 PM at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.
He leaves the following to cherish his memory: wife, Marcia Thomas of Newbern; two sons Stan Thomas and Jeff Thomas both of Newbern, and their wives Anita and Deborah; four grandchildren, Kristi Getson and husband Scott, David Thomas and wife Nicky, Emilee French and husband Mike, and Mary Kathryn Thomas; six great-grandsons, Evan Guy Thomas, Ty Thomas, Matt Getson, Luke Getson, Aaron French and Clark French.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, George Thomas and Joe Thomas; four sisters, Lelma Rice, Edith Asbridge, Mabel Rogers Little and Blondell Wagster.
