Leland Junior Johnson, 84, of Willis, MI, formerly of Dyersburg, died Friday, April 20, 2012 at his residence.

He was a retired tool and dye setter and a member of Holy Hills Baptist Church.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Jeremy Ballinger officiating. Burial will be in New Haven Cemetery in Ridgely.

The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife, Sybil Johnson of Willis, MI; two daughters, Judy Fleming of Willis, MI and Carolyn Cook of Belleville, MI; a son, Ronnie Johnson of Westland, MI; three sisters, Virginia Robinson of Tiptonville, Mary Haley of Union City and Nazline Basham of Ridgely; a brother, Bonnie Johnson of Union City; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Henry Green Johnson; three sisters, Charline Gregory, Pamela Thurmon and Maxine Norris; and two brothers, Millard Johnson and Willard Johnson.

Pallbearers will be Larry Fleming, Scotty Cook, Nicholas Ray, Ricky Glass, Brad Glass and Rusty Grills.

The family requests no flowers, that memorials may be directed to a charity of the donor's choice in honor of Leland Johnson.

Laverne Pledge Ledbetter, 81 of Rutherford, Tennessee, formally of Newbern, Tennessee died on Monday, April 23, 2012, at Gibson County General Hospital in Trenton, Tennessee.

Born, October 17, 1930 in Dyer County, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Robert Lee Pledge and the late Tommye Jackson Pledge. Mrs. Ledbetter was a Methodist and retired employee of Kenton Custom Molding.

Graveside services for Mrs. Ledbetter will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at Fairview Cemetery in Newbern, Tennessee. Officiating this service will be Rev. Garrett A. Sweeney.

Mrs. Ledbetter is survived by one son, Edwin "Bo" Ledbetter & Wife Sheila of Humboldt, Tennessee, one daughter, Cindy Landrum & Husband Glynn of Bradford, Tennessee; one sister, Glenda Adkins of Rutherford, Tennessee; two grandsons, Jimmy Ledbetter of Tucson, Arizona and Travis Landrum of Bradford, Tennessee and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one grandson, Steven Edward Ledbetter.

Pallbearers will be Travis Landrum, Jason Adkins, Mike Douglas, Mark Pledge, David Dennison and Jimmy Jackson.

Eugene "Gene" Patterson, 73, of Finley, died Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at his residence.

He was a pull utility employee for Colonial Rubber Works, where he worked for 32 years and a member of Finley Baptist Church.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Halliburton officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife, Glenda Gruggett Patterson of Finley; two daughters, Tina Patterson of Finley and Deidra White and husband, Tommy, of Dyersburg; a son, Kenneth Patterson of Spokane, WA; a sister, Joyce Luckett and husband, George, of Dyersburg; six grandchildren, Georgia Hughes and husband, Andy and Megan White and companion, Trevor Thompson, all of Dyersburg, Dillon Scobey of Finley, Eric Patterson of Spokane, WA, Gena Mayfield and Randy Patterson, both of Missouri; and five great-grandchildren, Landon Hughes, Jacob Hughes, Hailey Hughes, Macie Thompson and Randy Patterson III.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Tammy Patterson; his parents, Willie "Preacher" and Ardney Gray Patterson; three sisters, Shirley Ann Hollis, Mable Horner and Ilene Patterson; four brothers, Jerry Dan Patterson, Leonard Patterson, James Patterson and Joy "Bud" Patterson; and two grandchildren, Kenny Patterson and Kimberly Patterson.

Pallbearers will be Dennis Scobey, Dolphus Jordan, Rickey McCuiston, Andrew McCuiston, Jeff Jones and Trevor Thompson.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Ridgely Church of Christ. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.


Dwayne Thomas, 47, of Dyersburg, died Monday, April 23, 2012 in Nashville.
