The Lady Trojans would come out fast and furious with a 2-0 start in the first 10 minutes of the match on their way to a 4-2 win.
Katherine Keller dominated throughout the victory with all four goals for the Lady Trojans connecting with Rachel Clifft on the second and third Dyersburg goals and Maricela Leon assisting on the final score. The last two goals would come early in the second half and with only a minute remaining in the match to seal the deal. After the quick start the Lady Trojans would, however, relinquish the lead with the Lady Lions taking advantage of their few chances and collect goals 14 minutes into the first half and at the beginning of the second half to keep things interesting at 2-2.
The Lady Trojans never waivered reclaiming the lead just five minutes later, dominating the final 30 minutes of the match before getting the closing goal and the 4-2 result. The defending group was particularly impressive closing out the match with keeper Katie Windle registering three saves and Amanda Sanchez, Olivia Jones, and Sydney McNeill controlling the defensive end in front of goal. Destiny Thompson was especially effective in the defensive effort throughout the match.
Dyersburg hosts Haywood this coming Thursday at the DMS Soccer Complex.
