Lee Pearl Anderson was born on November 11, 1923 in Dyer County to the late Jesse and Mary Harris. She departed this life on September 22, 2012 at the Dyersburg Regional Hospital.

Mrs. Anderson was educated in the Public School System of Dyer County. She worked as a nursing assistant at Oakwood Nursing Home in Dyersburg, TN until her health would not allow her to. Mrs. Anderson was baptized and accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of People's Chapel C.M.E. Church and remained faithful for many years. Later she became a member of Faith Deliverance Apostolic Church. She was also a member of the Echoes of Zion Gospel Singing Group and the American Legion Women Auxiliary.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Sept. 29 at noon at Faith Deliverance Apostolic Church located at 1210 Lincoln St. in Dyersburg; Bishop Denard Williams, pastor, officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday from 11 am-noon at the church. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Dyersburg.

Mrs. Anderson was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Mary Harris; 2 Brothers: Jessie and Paul Harris; 1 Sister: Mazie Fizer and 3 Sons: Calvin, Ezell, and Michael Simmons.

Mrs. Anderson leaves in the hands of God, 1 Daughter: Effie Simmons; 5 Sons: William Paul Powell, Danny (Ann) Simmons, Rufus (Mary) Simmons, Finis (Jackie) Simmons, and Robert (Brenda) Simmons; She also leaves love to 15 Grandchildren; 25 Great-Grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.

John Wayne Essary, 73, of Lebanon, formerly of Dyersburg, died Monday, September 24, 2012 at his residence.

He was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Lebanon, loved to shoot pool and dance the two step at Lebanon Senior Citizens Center and was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.

Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Fairview Cemetery. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Marcia Jean Canada Essary; children, Dirk W. Essary and Jeannine M. Essary; a brother, Rick Rickman; two grandchildren, Brent C. Essary and Rebecca J. Hoback; and several special cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alice Williams Rickman and John Walter Essary; and two sisters, June Fisher and Mary Neva Essary.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
