What do Davy Crockett, the Liberty Bell, a Japanese submarine, a gangster's car riddled with bullet holes and a caged wild panther all have in common? Each has spent time on the lawn of the Dyer County Courthouse. Dyer County historian Earl Willoughby opened his presentation on the history of the structures that have served as courthouses in Dyer County with a list of unusual artifacts that have graced Veterans Square. Willoughby's presentation took place in the downstairs courtroom of the Dyer County Courthouse as part of the building's centennial celebration.
