For over two decades, Dyer County residents and regional athletes have joined together to aid local children by participating the Dyersburg/Dyer County Union Mission's annual Mission March.
The event allows residents of all ages to stretch their legs and their athletic abilities, while providing the means for the Mission to stretch its programs further into the Dyer County community.
Pre-registered participants may pick up their packets between noon and 6 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 19, at the Mission Chapel. Race Day registration and packet pick-up will take place between 7:30-8:45 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 20.
Registration is currently under way at www.dyersburgmission.com or by visiting the Mission office located at 213 West Cedar St. in downtown Dyersburg.
Corporate groups, churches, civic organizations and schools may also choose to compete for a traveling plaque. The plaque is presented to the team with the most participants, not the fastest participants. Team members may participate in the 5K, two-mile, one-mile or Dyersburg Mile -- or may choose to be a ghost participant.
The registration deadline for the team competition is Monday, Oct. 15.
