The Northwest Tennessee Economic Development Council will distribute U.S. Department of Agriculture quarterly commodities to residents of Dyersburg and Newbern at three events in the near future.
Commodities will be distributed to eligible residents of Newbern at the Rescue Squad building from 8 a.m.-1 p.m., on Thursday, Oct. 11.
Commodities in Dyersburg will be distributed to eligible residents whose last name begins with A through K on Wednesday, Oct. 17 and to eligible residents whose last name begins with L through Z on Thursday, Oct. 18. Both Dyersburg events will take place at 1400 Hornbrook St. from 8 a.m. until noon.
Eligibility is based on total household income, not in excess of the state-established maximum percentage of the poverty line for the appropriate household size.
In addition, residents also qualify to receive USDA commodities if they are receiving aid from Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (formerly known as Food Stamps), Families First, Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Low Income Energy Assistance Program or have a documented residence in public housing.
