Cattle Receipts: 963 Last week: 1043 Last year: 1034
According to the Federal-State Market News Service:
Slaughter cows and bulls steady. Steers/bulls under 600 lbs 6.00 to 10.00
higher, over 600 lbs steady to firm. Heifers under 500 lbs steady to 5.00
lower, over 500 lbs steady to 6.00 higher, mostly 3.00 to 6.00 higher on
weights 500-700 lbs. Advances on feeder classes on Medium and Large 1-2
with lower quality cattle steady. Overall quality not very attractive,
exception being few lots of value added cattle.
Slaughter cows made up 10 percent of the offering, slaughter bulls 1
percent, replacement cows 12 percent, and feeders 77 percent. The feeder
supply included 38 percent steers, 37 percent heifers, and 25 percent
bulls. Near 33 percent of the run weighed over 600 lbs.
