Grace Presbyterian Church will present its community outreach program, "More than a Meal," at noon on Saturday, Nov. 17, serving a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. The church is located at 605 Cheatham St. in Dyersburg.
The program provides a hot meal, music, prayer, conversation and new friendships on the third Saturday of each quarter of the calendar year. Those attending may also find assistance in applying for food stamps, processing a job application or obtaining state photo IDs, driver's licenses, birth certificates and other important documents.
Organizers say "More than a Meal" is an attempt to alleviate some of life's stress from residents who live in substandard housing or those without homes at all. Its mission is "Welcome, Care and Compassion for God' people seeking assistance."
Residents throughout the community looking for active involvement in a Christian outreach are invited to attend or request more information by calling program coordinators Lanette Mason-Toombs at (731) 589-1584, Patra Powell Carter at (731) 334-0592 or JoAnn Edwards at 285-3767.
