Bro. Henry Lee Caldwell Sr. was born on February 10, 1938 in Dyersburg, TN from the union of Mr. Charlie & Julia Caldwell of Dyersburg, TN, who preceded him in death.
He confessed Christ at an early age. He attended New Womack Temple C.M.E. Church. He was a graduate of Bruce High School, class of 1958. He joined in holy matrimony to Mrs. Virginia McDougale Caldwell of Dyersburg, TN. This union produced 2 daughters: Latricia (Ellis) Vaughn (Hopewell, VA), and Tammie Caldwell (Wayne) of Alamo, TN; 1 son: Henry Lee Caldwell Jr. who preceded him in death; 5 grandchildren: Eric Lamont Williams (U.S. Army), Adrienne Thomas (Alamo, TN), Talisa Vaughn (Richmond, VA), Marquell Samuels (Caruthersville, MO), Dewon Johnson (Alamo, TN); 4 great-grandchildren; 5 sisters: Sarah Davis, Gertie Willingham, Julia Henderson, Emily R. Caldwell, Katie Smith (all of Dyersburg); 2 brothers: Charles F. Caldwell (Lake County, TN), Curtis Lee Fowlkes (Dyersburg, TN) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family & friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012 at 12 pm at New Womack Temple C.M.E. Church located at 922 Lewis Ave., Dyersburg; Pastor Moddie Sessons, eulogizing. Burial will be at MCCO Cemetery in Newbern. The family will receive friends Saturday, Nov. 17 from 10 am-12 pm at the church.

Mrs. Lavenia Blalock Overby, 88, of Dyersburg, TN died Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at Regional Hospital of Jackson. She was a homemaker.
Visitation for Mrs. Lavenia Blalock Overby will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 15, 2012 at the funeral home. A private family service will be held later in Illinois. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include a daughter, Darlene Adams of South Elgin, Illinois; one sister, Wilma Cannon of Dyersburg; three brothers, Ernest Blalock and Lloyd Blalock Jr. both of Dyersburg, and James Blalock of Oklahoma; six grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mervin Overby; a daughter, Vicki Harris; her parents, Lloyd and Minnie Jackson Blalock; and two brothers, R. L. Blalock and Roy Blalock.
