Dyersburg High School Student Council announces holiday projects

Thursday, November 15, 2012

As the holiday season rolls around, many people begin to search for opportunities to serve others. Dyersburg High School Student Council has two projects not only for the students, but for the entire community. The east office is open for people to drop off canned goods that will be donated to Matthew 25:40 who desperately need to restock their shelves.

Deadline for the canned goods is Dec. 20. Student Council has also decided to assemble Christmas packages for the troops overseas. Items such as Christmas candies, candy canes, holiday snack cakes, beef jerky, Slim Jims, granola bars, Power Bars, trail mix and Fruit Roll-ups can be donated. Just about any food item that is individually wrapped will do, but no home-baked items. Most importantly handwritten notes, cards or letters of appreciation will be accepted. The deadline for the troops donations is Dec. 1. Please consider giving to these causes and help spread joy this holiday season. If you have any questions or aren't sure where to drop off the items, call 731-286-3630 ext. 1102 or 3231.
