William Ralph Carpenter, 90 of Newbern, Tennessee died on Tuesday, November 20, 2012, at his residence in Newbern, Tennessee.
Born Thursday, October 12, 1922 in Newbern, Tennessee, he was the son of the late James Edward Carpenter and the late Virgie Tempie Williams Carpenter.
He was a retired Rural Mail Carrier for the United States Office, United States Army Veteran serving in World War II. Lifelong member of Center United Methodist Church and member of the Tennessee Farm Bureau.
Funeral services for Mr. Carpenter will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, November 24, 2012 in the Chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home with Rev. Dan Tilly and Rev. Harold Stricker. Internment will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Newbern, Tennessee. Visitation will be Friday, November 23, 2012 from 4:00 PM-7:00 PM at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.
Mr. Carpenter is survived by his wife of seventy years Irene Anderson Carpenter; three sons, Jerry Edward Carpenter & Wife Linda of Martin, Tennessee, William Larry Carpenter & Wife Pat of Newbern, Tennessee and Kenneth Anderson Carpenter & Wife Jeanette of Newbern, Tennessee; two brothers Ronald Carpenter and Glen Carpenter both of Newbern, Tennessee; six grandchildren, Dana Evans & her husband Brian of McMinnville, Tennessee, Scott Carpenter of Martin, Tennessee, Karen Carpenter of Gallatin, Tennessee, Randy Carpenter of Atlanta, Georgia, Beth Dieterich & husband Adam of Atlanta, Georgia and Casey Carpenter of Newbern, Tennessee; three great-grandchildren, Brett Evans and Brook Evans both of McMinnville, Tennessee and Sara Dieterich of Atlanta, Georgia.
Pallbearers will be Randy Carpenter, Scott Carpenter, Brian Evans, Rick Glendowne, Ronnie Weatherly and Steve McLean. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Williams, Bill Hobbs, G. B. Holder, Crannie Webb and Don Hilliard.

Diana Lynn Hardy Reinhart, 51, of Millington passed away on Tuesday, November 20, 2012.
She was preceded in by a daughter Falon Jenkins.
Diana leaves her daughter Brittany Abshure-Hardy of Murfreesboro, TN, her mother Ruby Hardy of Millington, her father and step mother O'Neal and Elaine Hardy of Memphis, TN, and one sister Debra Jenkins.
The family will receive friends from 9:30am until service time at 11am, on Friday, November 23, 2012, at Family Funeral Care. Interment will be at 2:30pm, that afternoon in Dyersburg Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to the Memphis Humane Society.
Charlotte Diane Sego, 50, of Humboldt, Tennessee, died Tuesday at her residence.
