Dyersburg Police continue to search for the 19-year-old suspect from Wednesday night's shooting and have released his photo in hopes somebody will report his whereabouts so he can be brought to justice.

Christopher Devante Liggon Jr. is charged with attempted murder after shooting a black male on Lee Street in Dyersburg on Wednesday evening.

Liggon Jr., from Dyersburg, is described as a 19-year-old black male, 6 feet tall, and 140 pounds. Dyersburg Police Lt. Billy Williams stated Liggon Jr. is considered armed and dangerous since they have not recovered the weapon used in Wednesday night's attack.

The victim in the case was reportedly walking down Lee Street in Dyersburg around 7:45 p.m. on Wednesday when Liggon Jr. allegedly shot him and then took off running. The unidentified victim made his way to an apartment on Tucker Street and was later airlifted to the Med in Memphis for treatment of a gunshot wound. He was released from the hospital the next day.

Williams hopes someone in the community will recognize Liggon Jr. and report his whereabouts.

"We need citizens to call in if they can and help us locate him," said Williams.

If you have information on the whereabouts of Christopher Devante Liggon Jr. contact Crime Stoppers of Dyer County at 731-285-TIPS (8477), Dyersburg Police at 731-2851212, or DPD Criminal Investigation Division at 731-288-7679.
