Dearl Damon Dykes, 79, of Dyersburg, Tennessee died Sunday, December 23, 2012 at his residence. He was a farmer and attended Finley Baptist Church.

Funeral services for Mr. Dykes will be 11:00 am, Thursday, December 27, 2012 at Curry Funeral Home conducted by Brother Charlie Halliburton. Interment will follow in Dyer County Memorial Gardens. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Ronald Moore, Brad Studard, Gordon Ashby, Jerry Brock, Tom Wells and Burless Davis.

The Dykes family will receive visitors Wednesday, December 26th from 5 -- 8 pm at the funeral home.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Sue Brock Dykes of Dyersburg; 1 daughter, Melissa Sue LeBonte and husband Al of Dyersburg; 3 sons, Bobby Darrell Dykes and wife Donna of Dyersburg, Jeffrey Ellis Dykes of Dyersburg and Brian Brock Dykes and wife Tina of Chapel Hill, TN; 1 sister, Christine Medley of Chestertown, IN, 1 half sister, Rose McLain of Twin Lakes, MI; 1 grandson, Bruce Dykes of PA and 2 granddaughters, Becky Dykes of Memphis and Emily Dykes of Dyersburg.

He was preceded in death by his parents William Owen and Artie Ollie Powers Dykes.

James A. "Jim" Jones, 79, of Dyersburg, Tennessee died Sunday, December 23, 2012 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center. Mr. Jones was a former supervisor with Sylvania and retired plant maintenance supervisor at Republic Steel. He was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church and an Army Veteran.

Funeral services for Mr. Jones will be 2:00 pm, Thursday, December 27, 2012 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home conducted by Reverend Lynn King. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Heathcott, II, Casey Henderson, Frank Burnett, Shelton Jones, Steve McDonald, Chuck Barineau and Luke Allmon. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronald Jones, Donald Jones, George Jeffries, Jim Horner and Tom Kee.

The Jones family will receive visitors Thursday, December 27th from 12 Noon until service time at the funeral home.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Vera Jones, 2 daughters Edye Heathcott and husband Jeff of Dyersburg, Debbie Kirkland and husband Rick of Baton Rouge, LA, 1 sister Carolyn Burnett of Dyersburg, 1 brother R.L. Jones of Newbern, 4 grandchildren, Jeff Heathcott, II, Laura Anne Heathcott Henderson, Casey Kirkland, Georgia Kirkland and 2 great-grandchildren, Kayleigh Kirkland and Rilan Drift Daves.

He was preceded in death by his parents Rube Lee and Pearl Spradley Jones.

Mary Jo Norwood, 73, of Dyersburg, died Saturday, December 22, 2012 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

She was a homemaker, member of Harvest Baptist Church and was a volunteer for the Dyersburg/Dyer County Union Mission.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Dyer County Memorial Gardens with the Rev. John Paul Schuster officiating. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include her three sons, Gary L. Norwood and wife, Jane, of Memphis, Ronald D. Norwood and wife, Betty, of Nashville and Stanley Glen Norwood and wife, Lynn, of Leeds, England; a sister, Wanda Troutt of Camden; a sister-in-law, Olene French of Orlando, FL; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Norwood; and her parents, William and Hazel Lynch French.

Pallbearers will be Gary Norwood, Ronald Norwood, Jonathan Norwood, Malcolmb Norwood, Ethan Norwood and Jessica Hasty.

The family requests that memorials be directed to Dyersburg/Dyer County Union Mission.


Pollie Ann Kilpatrick Goodman Phillips, 75, of Hornbeak, died Monday, December 24, 2012 at her residence.

Richard Rice age 54 of Milan, TN died December 20, 2012 at Nashville General Hospital.
