Winners announced in Newbern Christmas Decorations Contest

Most Beautiful Door was awarded to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Kevin Hill, located at 111 Crowne Hill Drive. The Hills earned the honor in the city of Newbern Beautification Committee's 2012 Christmas Decorations Contest. Honorable mention was awarded in this category to the home of Phyllis Webb, located at 205 Washington St.

The home of Mr. and Mrs. Kirby Ogden, located at 801 Granite St., earned Most Christmas Spirit from the city of Newbern Beautification Committee in the organization's annual Christmas Decorations Contest.
The city of Newbern Beautification Commission recently announced the winners of its annual Christmas Decorations Contest.

Homes within the Newbern city limits were recognized for the creativity and spirit of their holiday decorations during the 2012 contest. Judging took place Dec. 14-16, with six homes honored.

Homes recognized include:

* Most Beautiful -- The home of Mr. and Mrs. Brad Ing, located at 2110 Crown Ridge Drive.

* Most Beautiful Door -- The home of Mr. and Mrs. Kevin Hill, located at 111 Crowne Hill Drive.

* Most Beautiful Door Honorable Mention -- The home of Phyllis Webb, located at 205 Washington St.

* Most Christmas Spirit -- The home of Mr. and Mrs. Kirby Ogden, located at 801 Granite St.

* Most Religious -- The home of Mr. and Mrs. Tim Akin, located at 931 West Main St.

* Honorable Mention -- the home of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Lamb, located at 501 West Main St.
