Recently a "Penny Wars" competition at Dyersburg Middle School earned $789.36 for the capital funds campaign for the new public library.

Classes competed for a pizza party prize using 'a penny a vote' donation system. Any silver coins donated were subtracted from the votes.

After a fierce competition between the grades, students on hall 8B won the prize.

DMS Student Council members presented the funds to McIver's Grant Library Director Dara Gonzales.
