Fincher sworn into office

Friday, January 4, 2013

WASHINGTON, DC -- On Thursday, U.S. Rep. Stephen Fincher (R-Frog Jump) was officially sworn in to represent the 8th Congressional District of Tennessee for the 113th Session of the United States Congress. The Speaker of the House, John Boehner (pictured on left), conducted an individual ceremonial swearing-in for Congressman Fincher (right) with his wife, Lynn, and daughter Sarah, in the Capitol following the oath of office for all members on the floor of the House of Representatives.

"It is a tremendous honor to serve the people of the 8th district of Tennessee," said Fincher. "The federal government must work for the people not the other way around. In the next two years, I will fight for commonsense solutions. So many times Washington makes issues out to be rocket science and it's not. It's common sense we need to address our country's addiction to spending. It's common sense we must make our country more competitive in the global market to create jobs. We can change and get our country moving in the right direction. Washington just needs a healthy dose of common sense."

Fincher is a member of the House Committee on Financial Services. For more information about Fincher's work in Congress visit www.fincher.house.gov.
