Phoebe Alana Boals, 20 months, daughter of Patrick and Christian Boals of Dyersburg died Sunday, December 30, 2012 in Newbern, TN.

The Boals family will receive visitors Monday, January 7, 2013 at Holy Angels Catholic Church from 11:00 am until 12 Noon.

Funeral services for Phoebe will be Monday, January 7, 2013 at 12:30 pm at Holy Angels Catholic Church with Father Robert Stellini officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Spencer Boals, Austin Emmett, Preston Barbee and Gary Holmes.

She is survived by her parents, Patrick and Christian Boals of Dyersburg, a sister Ruby Kathryn Boals and a brother Carter London Boals, both of Dyersburg, her grandparents, Kathy and George Yarbro of Dyersburg, Tim and Cheryl Shannon of Leesburg, AL, her great-grandparents Paul and Cora London of Cleveland, GA, Henry and Shirley Holmes of Dyersburg, her aunts and uncles, Jennifer and Shane Cozort, Spencer Boals, all of Dyersburg, Austin and Mariah Emmett of Leesburg, AL, her God Parents Lana Cozort and Gary Holmes and many loving family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Larry Mack Boals and four uncles, Andrew Watkins, Craig Watkins, Joey Holmes and Trimmy Holmes.

A memorial fund has been established in the name of Phoebe Alana Boals at First Citizens National Band and Security Bank.

Ewell Brimm, 80, of Dyersburg, died Friday, January 4, 2013 at West Tennessee Veteran's Home in Humboldt.

He was a factory worker for Colonial Rubber, where he worked for 32 years, member of Bogota Baptist Church, Army veteran of the Korean War, an avid hunter, fisherman and gardener.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Neely's Chapel Cemetery with the Rev. Randy Crews officiating. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

The family will receive visitors from 4-6 p.m. Sunday at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife, Nora Nell Brimm of Dyersburg; a son, Tony Brimm and wife, Laura, of Dyersburg; three sisters, Frances Lemons of Dyersburg, June Lay of Chattanooga and Jane Manns of Newbern; a brother, Bobby Brimm of Chattanooga; and two grandchildren, Matthew Tyler Brimm and Mallory Leanne Pope.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Debbie Brimm; his parents, Jerry Odell and Mary Virginia Lee Brimm; and a brother, Everett Brimm.

Virginia "Tootsie" Sykes, 91, of Dyersburg died Friday, January 4, 2013 at Oakwood Community Living Center. She was a homemaker and member of Lenox Baptist Church.

Funeral services for Mrs. Sykes will be at 11:00 am Tuesday, January 8, 2013 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home conducted by Reverend Mac Daniels. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Stevie Tatum, Ray Goff, Mike Cole, Toby Hays, Adam Pride and Justin Bishop.

Honorary pallbearers will be her sons, Harold G. Clark, Jerry A. Hays, Clarence (Did) Hays, James Sykes and Larry Dan Hays.

The Sykes family will receive visitors Monday, January 7th from 5:00 -- 8:00 pm at the funeral home.

She is survived by 1 daughter Sonda Faye Bishop of Dyersburg, 5 sons, Harold G. Clark of Tigrett, Jerry A. Hays. Clarence (Did) Hays, James Sykes, all of Lenox, Larry Dan Hays of Dyersburg, 2 step-daughter Mary V. Walker of Mayfield, KY, Charlene Hampton of California, 2 step-sons, Charles Sykes of Newbern, Eugene Sykes of Roellen, 19 grandchildren, 9 step grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 10 step great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren and 2 step great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar D. Sykes, 2 sons, Gary Sykes and David L. Sykes, 1 step son, George Larry Sykes, 1 sister Mary W. Pace, 2 brothers Monroe Clark, Norman Clark, 1 grandchild, Jason Hays and her parents C.M. and Bertie Mae Clark.

Mrs. Marguerite Grace "Peggy" Norman, 93, of Memphis, formerly of Dyersburg, died Friday, January 4, 2013 at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis.

Funeral arrangements for Mrs. Norman are incomplete at this time and will be announced later by Curry Funeral Home.


James Carter Williams, age 55 of Newbern, passed away on Saturday at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Dyer County Memorial Gardens. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
