Dyersburg Regional Medical Center's Senior Circle program will celebrate its 10th anniversary with a gala anniversary event on Friday, March 22.

Senior Circle provides people age 50 and better with an outlet for enjoying their golden years and pursuing an active lifestyle, while learning about health and wellness and meeting others. Dyersburg's Senior Circle program currently has more than 850 members from the community.

Activities planned for the anniversary gala include a health and business expo, dinner and a keynote address by noted author and humorist Bobbe White.

A veteran corporate trainer, business development and team-building professional, White has worked for a number of corporate and non-profit organizations ranging from national companies to hospitals to the Arnold Palmer Bay Hill Club. She will share her insights regarding the therapeutic value of laughter and humor, and simple ways to find joy in our daily lives, manage stress, stay healthy and build and maintain more positive relationships with family and friends.

The health and business expo will feature goods and services from local businesses ranging from health and wellness to fashion and financial services. Items will be offered for sale and door prizes will be awarded. Additionally, health professionals will be on hand to offer blood pressure and cholesterol checks.

"We look forward to celebrating 10 successful years of Senior Circle with the Dyersburg community," says DRMC Senior Circle Program Director Suzanne Grueser. "But don't let the name Senior Circle fool you -- the program is open to anyone age 50 and better, with activities designed to keep us all feeling young. Senior Circle offers something for everyone -- health and wellness activities, health screenings, physician presentations, travel and social opportunities, as well as local and national discounts on health and wellness goods and services."

Senior Circle membership provides a variety of benefits, including social opportunities, health education programs, exercise classes, volunteerism, entertainment, and travel. Senior Circle chapter members enjoy day and overnight trips ranging from area historical and cultural attractions to resort destinations and international points of interest.

Regular activities of the Dyersburg Senior Circle chapter include a book club, sewing club, water exercise classes, day trips, and physician-led "Lunch & Learn" presentations on aging and pertinent health topics.

The Senior Circle anniversary event will be held at the Lannom Center in Dyersburg.

Tickets go on sale Jan. 8. Ticket prices are $15 for Senior Circle members and $20 for non-members. Tickets may be purchased at the DRMC Gift Shop or at the Senior Circle office, located on the ground floor of the hospital.

The health and business expo will begin at 3 p.m. and conclude at 5 p.m. Door-prize awards, the gala dinner and keynote presentation will follow, beginning at 5 p.m.
