Melvin Crafton, 77 of RoEllen, Tennessee died on Tuesday, January 22, 2013, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, Tennessee.

Born Tuesday, July 2, 1935 in Lanesferry, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Clifford Leslie Crafton and the late Alta May Gardner Crafton. He was a retired electrician from Doug Rice & Sons.

Funeral services for Mr. Crafton will be 2:00 PM, Friday in the Chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. Officiating this service will be Rev. Dan Tilly. Interment will follow in Rehoboth Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 PM-8:00 PM at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.

He is survived by his wife, Tammy Crafton of RoEllen, Tennessee; four daughters, Phyllis Kesterson of Dyersburg, Tennessee, Belinda Deaver and Cynthia Daffron both of Dyer, Tennessee and Davonda Ables of Finley, Tennessee; two step-sons, Dustin Hendren and Phillip Bevis both of Dyersburg, Tennessee; one brother, Ed Crafton of RoEllen, Tennessee; three sisters, Gaynor Hainstock of RoEllen, Tennessee, Vonell Becker of Paris, Tennessee and Evelyn Crawford of Clarksdale, Mississippi; eight grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Loren Crafton and Robert Crafton and two sisters, Joyce Hoeing and Patricia Flatt.

Pallbearers will be Scott Hainstock, Taylor Daffron, Hunter Ables, Kenneth Burns, Brent Flatt and Dean Flatt. Honorary pallbearers will be Nathan Burns and Jeremiah Reed.

Rosa Mae "Nanny" Gardner (nee Turner), 93, of Fredericktown, Mo., died Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013 in Fredericktown, Mo.

She was born June 7, 1919, in Hillhouse, Mississippi

Survivors include her children; Alton (Frances) Gardner, Mable Gardner (wife of Bob Gardner), Jewel (Ernie) Miller, Jack (Kathy) Gardner. Seven grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren, and twenty great-great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death, her husband; Howard Taft Gardner; son William (Bob) Gardner, infant son L. C. Gardner; four brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be Friday, January 25, 2013

Graveside funeral at Dyer County Memorial Cemetery in Dyersburg, Tennessee Saturday January, 26 at 3:30.

Pauline Lucas, 94, of Dyersburg died Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at Maple Ridge Manor. She was Assistant Manager and Bookkeeper with F.W. Woolworth Company from 1940 -- 1982. She was a graduate of Normal College which is now The University of Memphis.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Thursday, January 24, 2013 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home conducted by Mr. Rick Willis. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Fred Roland Moody Cherry, Chucky Moody, Lloyd Smith, Jr., Randy Hutcherson, Gerald Finley and Robert Turnbow.

The Lucas family will receive visitors Thursday morning beginning at 9:00 am until service time at the funeral home.

She is survived by her niece Jane Cherry, her great nephew Fred Roland Moody Cherry and family and her caregiver and friend Mae Turnbow, all of Dyersburg.

She was preceded in death by her parents Roland Elbert and Tommie Delila DeMoss Lucas.

J.N. Thompson, 84, of Paris, formerly of Dyersburg, died Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at Henry County Medical Center.

He was a retired factory worker for Dyersburg Fabrics, member of Hodges Chapel Baptist Church and an avid deer hunter.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Dr. Joe W. Eaton officiating. Burial will be in Sorrell's Chapel Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife, Mary E. Thompson of Paris; two daughters, Wanda McCammon and husband, Larry, of Biloxi, MS and Judy Brooks of Cloverdale; four sons, Jerry Thompson and wife, Shirley, of Humboldt, Danny Thompson and wife, Anita, of Newbern, Mark Thompson of McKenzie and Mike Boswell of Bradford; fifteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Eddie Thompson; his parents, I.Z. and Minnie Alford Thompson; and a brother, Alvin Thompson.

Pallbearers will be Roger Allen, David Boswell, Rufus McPeake, Michael Porter, David Gittermann and Bubba Gittermann.

Jimmy Lewis died Monday, Jan. 21, 2013.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. at the Halls Funeral Home on Friday, Jan. 25.

Daisy Byrd, 92, died Monday, Jan. 21, 2013.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. at the Halls Funeral Home on Thursday, Jan. 24.
