West Tennessee Home Educators Association to hold spelling bee

The West Tennessee Home Educators Association is sponsoring a spelling bee for homeschoolers. This is a preliminary contest for the Scripps' National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C. Students in grades 8 and below are eligible to participate. The bee is open to homeschoolers from Dyer, Fayette, Hardeman, Hardin, Haywood, Lake, Lauderdale, Obion, Tipton, and Weakley counties.

The bee will be held Saturday, Feb. 2, in Brownsville, Tenn. at the Brownsville/Hardeman County Parks and Recreation Building located at 100 Boyd Ave. Sign-up for the contest will begin at 1:30 p.m. with the bee starting at 2 p.m.
