Thursday, March 7, 2013

Marvin the Molar checked out McIver's Grant Public Library's new facility on Tuesday, Feb. 26, with a presentation honoring National Children's Dental Health Month.
Youngsters attending McIver's Grant Public Library's story time on Tuesday, Feb. 26 were treated to a visit from Marvin the Molar in honor of National Children's Dental Health Month.

Children attending the presentation, led by Stephanie Wagner and Barbara Reedy, listened to Sugarbug Doug and received their own toothbrush. After the program, children were given an opportunity to brush the sugarbugs off of Marvin the Molar with an oversized toothbrush.

"We learned how many times per day you should brush your teeth, how many times a day you should floss and how many times per year you should visit the dentist," said McIver's Grant Children's Librarian Lara Freidhof. "The answer is 'two' for each."

The program was sponsored by the Tennessee Department of Health.
