DPD investigating shooting in Milltown area

Dyersburg Police investigators are searching for two black males after a shooting occurred in the Milltown area of Dyersburg on Thursday evening, The victim, a 45-year-old white male, was reportedly shot while walking down Wheeler Street. He was able to make his way to this Mini Mart convenience store at the corner of Wheeler Street and Harrell Avenue.
Dyersburg Police are investigating a Thursday night shooting that resulted in a man having to be airlifted to the Med in Memphis.

At approximately 11:27 p.m. on Thursday, Dyersburg Police responded to the Mini Mart convenience store located at 700 Harrell Avenue, in reference to a man that had been shot.

After officers arrived, they found the victim, 45-year-old white male Bobby Ables, inside the store suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.

Dyersburg Asst. Police Chief Steve Isbell said Ables was able to tell the officers that he was walking down Wheeler Street near Merriman Street, when two black males approached him and shot him once in the head. After the shooting, the suspects fled on foot. Ables then reportedly ran to the Mini Mart, at the corner of Wheeler Street and Harrell Avenue, seeking help and store employees called 911.

Ables was airlifted to the Med in Memphis where he was listed in serious condition on Thursday evening.

Isbell said investigators do not know of a motive in the shooting at this time.

Dyersburg Police are asking anyone with information about the shooting to call Dyer County Crime Stoppers at 731-285-TIPS, or dial 311 for the Dyersburg Police Department

When these two morons are found out. We need to put the gun to their head, wait for them to beg for their lives and then pull the trigger in public. I bet this junk will quit then.

The law enforcement agencies around here couldn't solve a puzzle much less a crime they didn't see commited

I'm sure it's more to this. Not a reason to shoot anyone but it probably had something to do with drugs.
