Dyersburg Police say Antwone Shaw and Joe. M Reed of Ripley, Tenn. are the gunmen in these surveillance photos taken during the armed robbery at the Jr. Mart on Harrell Avenue on May 9.
The Dyer County Grand Jury met this week and handed down a number of indictments during its August session.

Topping the list of non-secret indictments were Joe Montrell Reed, 214 Sunset Dr., Ripley, Tenn., and Antwone Dewayne Shaw, 184 Burton St., Ripley, Tenn. Both men were indicted for two counts of aggravated robbery, which stem from an armed robbery incident that occurred in Dyersburg in May of this year.

According to Dyersburg Police, on Thursday, May 2, police responded to an alarm call at Jr. Mart on Harrell Avenue at approximately 10:11 p.m. After arriving, they discovered two masked men armed with a handgun had robbed the store. Two female store clerks reported the men came in and forced them to the ground at gunpoint. An undisclosed amount of cash was taken and the men fled the store on foot. The clerks were reportedly uninjured and officers working the scene were able to recover some evidence from the robbery.

On Wednesday, July 31, sheriff's deputies were dispatched to the 4000 block of Bruceville Slab Road, after a complaint of Pettie possibly being en route to a residence on that road. Pettie allegedly threatened a female and stated to her he was going over to "choke her to death". The woman also had a no-contact order against him. As deputies were driving to the location, another report came in from a man stating Pettie had cut him with a knife and stolen his truck. One deputy went to meet with the male victim at 5300 Bruceville Slab Road. The man reportedly told the deputy that Pettie had called him and asked for a ride. When he went to pick up Pettie, he pulled a knife on him and told him to drive to a residence on the 4000 block of Bruceville Slab Road, where the female was located he wanted see. While driving to the residence, Pettie allegedly told the man he was going to kill him and called the female and told her he was going to kill her. When they arrived in front of the house, the man tried to take the knife away from Pettie and his hand was cut in the process. He did, however, manage to get the knife away from him and threw it out of the window. During the struggle, Pettie allegedly tried to choke the man and get another knife, but the man jumped out of the truck and ran away. Pettie then left the scene in the man's truck.

A sheriff's deputy located Pettie on Highway 51 near Drew Road and pulled him over. Pettie admitted calling the female, but denied threatening her. He was taken into custody and charged with two counts of aggravated assault, aggravated kidnapping, theft over $500, and violation of a no-contact order.
