Union Mission opens warming center for Wednesday evening

A new weather advisory is forecasting subzero temperatures for residents in Dyersburg and Dyer County. Isolated power outages have been reported throughout the county and with winds picking up throughout the day and temperatures failing to reach above freezing, it is possible that trees weighted down with ice from the last few days may begin to fall, leading to more isolated power outages. In a press release statement, Dyersburg emergency officials praised Dyersburg Electric Systems for their proactive strategies to "weather the storm" as the city's power grid and lines continue to hold up well against this latest round of winter weather.
