Things are bound to get a little Seuss-y in downtown Dyersburg on Thursday, March 6, when McIver's Grant Public Library holds its annual Read Around Town event.

Library officials and community volunteers will get into the wacky spirit of Theodor Seuss Geisel in an evening designed to celebrate books and early literacy initiatives.

Held in conjunction with Read Across America, Read Around Town is held each year near the birthday of beloved children's book author Dr. Seuss. In Dyersburg, this year's Read Around Town will take place from 5:30 to 7 p.m., on Thursday, March 6.

Reading sites include the library, City Hall, St. Mary's Episcopal Church and Matthew 25:40, with volunteer readers on hand to share their very favorite stories with the children.

Goody bags will be handed out and a crossing guard will be on hand to help provide safe passage for families attending the event.
