Genealogy classes offered at library

Genealogy instructors Ardis Phillips and Pam Sirmans help James Via research his family tree in the genealogy room at McIver's Grant Public Library. Genealogy classes take place at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. each Wednesday afternoon by appointment. Via also instructs local residents at the library as the leader of a basic smartphone class at 1 p.m. each Thursday. Additional free classes hosted by the library include Sit and Stitch and 9 a.m. on Mondays, Basic Computer classes at 2 p.m. on Mondays and Kindle classes at 2 p.m. on Tuesdays. Those interested in taking part in a class may contact the library at 285-5032 or 287-7007 to pre-register.
