County planners deny solar-farm amendment

A moderate crowd of Dyer County residents gathered inside the Circuit Courtroom of the Dyer County Courthouse as the Dyer County Planning Commission met on Thursday afternoon to discuss an amendment of a zoning resolution drafted by the staff planner, Donny Bunton. Currently, solar farms are only allowed as principal uses in C-2 (Special Impact Commercial) districts. With the approval of HelioSage's request, the amendment would allow such uses in FAR (Forestry-Agricultural-Residential) districts as permitted on appeal.
