Trojans dominate Ingomar at Rumble by the River
The Dyersburg boys completed the first half of their season with a dominating performance on Friday afternoon, defeating the Ingomar Falcons 69-29 at the Rumble by the River at Itawamba Community College in Fulton, Miss.
After a slow start which saw the Falcons counter buckets from Jadrius Jenkins and Jordan Mosley to take a 9-5 lead at the end of the first quarter, the Trojans rallied in a big way on both ends of the quarter in the second stanza. While the Dyersburg defense limited Ingomar to just four points in the final eight minutes of the first half, the Trojan offense exploded with nearly 30 points as 14 points from Jordan Mosley and nine more by Zach Morgan led the way for the Trojans to take a 33-13 lead at the break.
The Falcons were able to answer the bell in the third quarter, but the Trojans were equal to the task and then some. Dyersburg answered Ingomarís 10-point frame with a balanced scoring attack led by six points from D.J. Swift as well as three-pointers by Tristan Haymon and Josh Livingston to take a commanding 51-23 lead heading into the final quarter.
In the last eight minutes, the Trojans matched their third-quarter performance with an identical 18-point final frame as DeMarr Ward and Niko Mann each had a pair of buckets to lead the way for Dyersburg and seal the win for the Trojans.
Mosley led the way for Dyersburg with 18 points while Morgan added 11 in the win.
Dyersburg returns to action on Saturday when the Trojans host Peabody in the second half of a doubleheader which gets underway at 6:30 p.m.
