On Aug. 3, Firestone presented a check from Bridgestone Americas Trust Fund to Relay to Relay for Life members in the amount of $2,000. This marks the third year Firestone has sponsored Relay for Life, which is the largest cancer fundraising event worldwide.

This year’s Dyer County Relay for Life will be held Friday, Aug. 18, at Dyersburg State Community College. The event will kick off at 6 p.m., with the Survivor Reception beginning at 5 p.m. in the Survivor tent near the stage.

An event encouraging the community to come together in a unified effort to raise both funds and awareness, the Dyer County Relay for Life provides supporters and survivors with a means to gather together, honor the loved ones who have been lost, encourage those who continue to struggle and celebrate the victory of those who have won.

Luminaries are also available for honoring lost loved ones; they will be lit just after dark on the evening of Relay for Life to illuminate the path for those walking and rallying together.
