Reba Vernell Anderson, 73 of Dyersburg, Tennessee died on Saturday, August 12, 2017, at Dyersburg Health and Rehabilitation Center in Dyersburg, Tennessee.
Born Thursday, May 18, 1944 in Trimble, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Ed Sharp and the late Agnes McElroy Sharp. She was a retired employee of the Dyer County Health Department and member of the Free Holiness Church.
Funeral services for Mrs. Anderson were on Monday, August 14, 2017 in the Chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. Officiating this service was Rev. Calvin Smith, Rev. Steven Speers and Rev. Brent Pierce. Interment followed in Sorrell's Chapel Cemetery.
She is survived by two sons, Scott Thorpe (Kelly) of Newbern, Tennessee and Tim Thorpe of Dyersburg, Tennessee; one step-daughter, Debbie Byrd (Mike) of Dyersburg, Tennessee; five grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and seven step-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Don Anderson; one step-daughter, Jerrianne Ferris and one sister, Barbara Quillen.
Pallbearers will be John Thorpe, Jeff Thorpe, Jake Thorpe, David Thorpe, John Harris and Gerald Burns. Honorary pallbearer will be Tony Truscott.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to Avalon Hospice of Dyersburg, Tennessee for the care and compassion that was extended to Mrs. Anderson and her family.

Roy Carman Mallard died in Nashville, Tennessee at Vanderbilt Medical Hospital on August 11, 2017. He was born on May 13, 1957 in Dyersburg, Tennessee, the younger son of Jack F. Mallard, Sr. and Jeanne Carman Mallard.
He graduated from Dyersburg High School in 1975 and attended University of Memphis, Dyersburg State Community College, and Freed-Hardeman University. He was a graduate of Dallas Institute of Mortuary Science in Dallas, Texas.
Roy was a successful Beltone hearing aid representative, embalmer, and paint contractor. He was actively involved in worship and service at the Trevecca Nazarene Community Church and the Nashville Rescue Mission. To know Roy was to love him because of his generous and loving spirit. He never met a stranger. There are many people who have received help and kind deeds from him as he was always ministering to others in his path who were struggling with lifeís addictions. His strength for the Lord was shown in his fight to keep trying to overcome obstacles.
Roy was preceded in death by his father, Jack Mallard, Sr.; and his grandparents, Roy and Minnie Lou Carman, William Authur Mallard, and Jeannie Mallard Lipscomb. He is survived by three children: a daughter, Kelly (David) Hames, of Trezavant, Tennessee; two sons, Kyle Mallard, New Orleans, Louisiana, and Casey Mallard of Union City, Tennessee; his mother, Jeanne Mallard of Bells, Tennessee; a brother, Jack (Debbie) Mallard, Jr., from Jackson, Tennessee; six grandchildren, and a nephew and a niece.
A memorial service will be held in the chapel of Friendship Funeral Home in Friendship, Tennessee on Thursday, August 17, 2017. Visitation will begin at 3:00 p.m. and continue until the time for the service at 5:00 p.m.

Patricia A. "Patti" Murphy, of Memphis, Tennessee, died July 6, 2017. Graveside services for Ms. Murphy will be 2:00 PM on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg, Tennessee. Family and friends are asked to gather at the cemetery.
Joyce Tucker Reasons, 82, of Dyersburg died Monday, August 14, 2017 at Tennova Healthcare Dyersburg Regional.
