46th annual Reelfoot Arts and Crafts festival dates set
Billed as one of the top 3 arts and crafts festivals in Tennessee, the 46th annual Reelfoot Arts and Crafts is set for the weekend of Friday, Sept. 29 through Sunday, Oct. 1. Located on the shores of historic Reelfoot Lake, outside of Tiptonville, the festival began in 1971, and annually attracts over 40,000 people from across the country.
The Reelfoot Arts and Crafts Festival spotlights approximately 300 local and home state vendors, as well as those located across the United States, including vendors from Mississippi, Arkansas, Texas, Kentucky, Florida and more, who gather to sell their products consisting of customized jewelry, woodwork pieces, monogrammed items, leatherwork, candles, among other items.
Food vendors are also present at the festival, ranging from homemade jams, jellies, and various types of jerky. Also, items such as fried pies, fresh-squeezed lemonade, barbecue, polish sausage, corn dogs, and a variety desserts can be purchased from vendors ranging from professional cooking teams, local churches, and school organization groups.
Vendors are set up on the grounds of Reelfoot Lake State Park, inside Ellington Hall (at the state park) as well as inside and outside the Clifton B. Cates National Guard Armory.
Throughout the 3-day event, free entertainment consisting of old-time string music, including bluegrass, Americana, and gospel, can be heard throughout the festival.
The festival opens daily at 9 a.m. and concludes at 5 p.m. The event is free to the public.
