Multiple depts. respond to fire on Bend Rd.

Early Wednesday morning, a fire occurring at 74 Bend Rd. destroyed a trailer and nearby truck. Multiple fire departments responded to the scene.

At approximately 8 a.m. Wednesday morning, firefighters from multiple departments including Fowlkes, Bonicord, Bruceville and Dyersburg responded to a call regarding a fire that erupted at 74 Bend Road, behind the residence of Michelle Buckner.

According to Dyer County Fire Chief James Medling, a travel trailer located on the rear side of the home caught fire due to electrical issues.

Upon the arrival of firefighters, the fire had already spread, engulfing a nearby pickup truck.

While the trailer and truck were destroyed in the fire, the home was left only slightly damaged. Medling reported there to be no injuries sustained from the incident.

On scene to for traffic safety were deputies of the Dyer County Sheriff’s Department.
