Super-load semi hauls mining truck bed through Dyer County

Wednesday, December 6, 2017
Early Tuesday morning, THP, as well as numerous commercial escorts aided yet another super-load semi through Dyer County, this one carrying the bed for a mining dump truck.

Driver Harold Hicks says his journey with the massive cargo began in Wyoming and will end in Mississippi, where he will deliver the bed to a scrap yard. Hicks says he has been a commercial driver since the late 1960s and has carried numerous loads of this size across the nation.
The convoy left Love’s Travel Center at roughly 8 a.m., from there proceeding down Lake Road and onto 51 Bypass S. Trooper Tony Freeze says this super-loader makes the fourth to have made way through Dyer County in just shy of three weeks. Prior to departure, Freeze performed a vehicle-safety inspection on the super-loader, to ensure safe travel through town and onto the highway.
