Nathan Manns Thomas was born February 23, 1947 in Dyersburg, TN to Mary Thomas and Robert Manns. He confessed his love for Christ at an early age and was raised in the Methodist Church. Nathan attended Dyersburg public school system graduating from Bruce High School in 1965 earning a scholarship to Lane College, but decided to enter the military (Army). He served one term in Vietnam and was honorably discharged in 1968. He was employed with the Detroit Medical Center as a technician until his retirement on January 1, 2016. In 1966, Nathan married his childhood sweetheart Kathy Nichols, no children were born to this union but he was instrumental in all of his nieces and nephews lives loving them as if they were his own and was always there to celebrate their accomplishments. He served as an assistant football coach with the Eastside Raiders in the PAL League Organization. Nathan’s favorite past time was watching sports. He departed this life January 1, 2018. He was preceded in death by his mother Mary Thomas, his father Robert Manns, and his brother Eddie Thomas. He leaves to cherish his memories: his devoted wife of 51 years Kathy Thomas; one brother Freddie Manns; god-daughter Destiny Greenwood; three sisters-in law, Julia Edmonds, Crystal (James) Kuykendall, Vanessa Nichols (Edward) Hawkins, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
