With wet and colder weather forecasted to hit the area on Friday, many games have been moved or cancelled heading into the weekend.

In high school sports, the most notable change in the schedule takes place away from home as the Battle at the Dawg Pound Tournament scheduled for Friday and Saturday in Milan was cancelled on Thursday afternoon.

This cancellation affected the weekends of both local high schools as the Lady Choctaws and Lady Trojans were both scheduled to take part in the pool and bracket play schedule over the weekend.

Closer to home and at the college level, Dyersburg State’s weekend baseball series with Walters State here in Dyersburg has been pushed back by a day.

The nine-inning series opener will now take place on Saturday at 2 p.m. The final two games of the three-game set have been scheduled for Sunday with first pitch coming at noon.

The softball four-game series set to begin on Friday afternoon at Dyersburg has also been moved but by two days. The first of the two doubleheaders will now take place on Sunday at 1 p.m. with the final two games taking place on Monday at noon.
