Children sing karaoke at McIver’s Grant Public Library

On Tuesday at McIver’s Grant Public Library, local children were given an opportunity to showcase their vocal talent as the library hosted karaoke as part of this year’s summer reading program (above). With various props available, kids dressed as rock stars and sang tunes such as ‘This Old Man’, ‘Jack and Jill’ among others (below).

During story time, Vanessa Cain read ‘Sing and Dance in Your Polka-Dot Pants’ by Eric Litwin and ‘Punk Farm on Tour’ by Jarrett J. Krosoczka (above). In the craft area, children decorated their own microphones (below). This week marks the final week of McIver’s Grant Public Library’s ‘Libraries Rock!’ Summer Reading Program. Events remaining throughout the week include Jammin’ with the Arts with Sarah Alley on Wednesday, Music Makers Makey-Makey Music Challenge on Thursday, and the Summer Reading Grand Finale on Friday. All remaining events are slated to begin at 11 a.m.
